Recap: Putting aside the vet vs. new era chatter that only a true We Go Hard stan could really embrace, for 3 rounds True Indeed and D Money engage in a gritty, fiery and competitive battle that was littered with hardbody street missives, mocking/witty personals, stinging gun bars and solid punchlines. A clash that also featured plenty of boastful barbs, Steams mention’s (from Money) and your to-be-expected name flips on both sides, it’s a slightly more pronounced, bar efficient and rich storytelling Money who gets the win, edging both the 1st and 2nd rounds before a slightly more punch-heavier True took the 3rd.

Verdict: D Money (W) 2-1

Favorite line: D Money – “I would say fuck your entire race…but my connect Spanish!”

Prep defeats D Money

Recap: Nice battle. D-Money represented, the “I’ll Quiet the room, I’ll get his queen flipped” line was ill (esp. with what I guess was Prep’s girl in the room) as was the “I got a young shooter that’s dying to put in work, he’ll spit that heat for just enough money to roll weed with” bar if you like that G talk. But a little too much filler (not including explaining what happened with his lackluster PG battle) and his homies gassing up his bars (esp. the “.357…long nose…pelican” line) was just a little too much to bear. That said, Prep proves once again that he’s a problem, not just out-dressing his opponent, but winning with some nice wordplay (“He got it back words [backwards], thinking he could spar with raps”), personals (“…..I know y’all hoped D Rose to the occasion but his PG was on some bullshit!”), quality freestyles in the middle of the written, fresh schemes and dope bars.

Verdict: Prep (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Prep – “This was the wrong one to bank on, Norbes should’ve put Money in a Vault”

prez mafia defeats D Money

Recap: Hey, I’m never one to kick a man while he down, but considering what’s at stake Proving Gorunds has gotsa be the worst place to pull a choke…not once, but twice no less. Smh.

Verdict: prez mafia (W) 3-0

Favorite line: prez mafia -“I got these flows down to a Tee, bars over everything, put the shine in the left hand and watch it wedding ring [wet-n-ring]”

D Money defeats Took

Recap: Plenty of mayhem and storytelling, but not too many haymakers in this one-round battle between Took and D Money on the We Go Hard stage. Still, with a load of reaches, predictable name flips and a plethora of dry spots from his opponent, a more consistent with the heat and hard-pressed D Money gets the edge.

Verdict: D Money (W) 1-0

Favorite line: D Money – “Bed-Stuy nigga, I’m likely to have that Ruger on me now, shooters with aim so good…blindfolded they could pick Waldo out a crowd!”

D Money defeats Gwapo

Recap: Gwapo’s monotonous flow isn’t helped by his mostly lackluster rhymes, thus giving D Money’s more colorful bars, esp. in rounds 1 and 2, an easy win despite his shortened 3rd.

Verdict: D Money (W) 2-1

Favorite line: D Money – “I got a fact about his track, for starters he was all off-beat, rhyming on some sloppy shit, the type of nigga to steal his own bars, let’s just say he like to copy shit!”

Presidential Dubz defeats D-Money

Recap: Having your parents supporting what you love to do is a beautiful thing, but actually bringing your mom’s to a rap battle?!? Right…well, moving on, nothing spectacular to see here as D-Money and Presidential Dubz both had their moments as well as a few stumbles along the way. But I got Dubz’ punchlines amd wordplay outshining his opponent’s in rounds 1 and 3, which equates to not only a win, but a mom who’s undoubtedly proud of her son.

Verdict: Presidential Dubz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Presidential Dubz – “Slugs open that stomach up, that means I see section [C-section]!”)
