Cortez defeats Black Aladdin

Recap: From GOTG, a couple of gritty, boastful and versatile performances from Cortez and Black Aladdin in this 1-rounder makes things competitive. But with a nastier diet of stifling wordplay, fiery street darts, crazy 4-bar set-ups/punchlines and rambunctious haymakers, it’s the veteran Cortez who earns the win.

Verdict: Cortez (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Cortez – “It’s Brooklyn, so who you gonna kill?, with twin nina’s, my gun connect had a two-for-one deal!”

Swamp defeats Black Aladdin

Recap: Kind of weird watching a battle where like half the audience could care less about the battle (much less making noise while the battle proceeds) going on right in front of them. Nonetheless, in what was pretty much a boastful, street bars/gritty punchfest, the more consistently harder-hitting and less pedestrian-bar prone Swamp gets the win over Black Aladdin in this 1-rounder from Black Elite Battle League.

Verdict: Swamp (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Swamp – “I’m the type of nigga, if you play stupid, they only gonna talk about how I shot him, Rest in Peace to Kendrick Johnson, it should’ve been this nigga they found rolled up in a carpet…not him!”

Shotgun Suge defeats Black Aladdin

Recap: They’re one round for a reason and a vet like Shotgun Suge shouldn’t be struggling to remember bars when all he has to do is spit for 3 to 5 minutes. And while a punch-heavier Suge can get away with a slip-up or two and still win a 1-rounder against the gritty, but mostly pedestrian raps of a Black Aladdin. If I’m a hardcore Suge fan, not receiving some noted ‘What His Life Like?’ bars much less a ‘Random’ shout out or two would leave me a little disappointed.

Verdict: Shotgun Suge (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Shotgun Suge – “Dome shot, the shit I’m squeezing here, I’m just trying to pop Black head!”

Chef Trez defeats Black Aladdin

Recap: 3 minutes of nothing but fire freestyles and rebuttals to start his turn once again proves Chef Trez’s mettle before the ATL vet proceeds to drop a boatload of fierce gun bars, witty personals and piercing 4-bar setups to gain the vic over a solid and name flip/mayhem-rich Black Aladdin in this 1-rounder from Black Elite Battle League.

Verdict: Chef Trez (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Chef Trez – “The shot excellent, right on target, my shooting legit, the shit land perfect, Snoop and Pharrell, it was a Beautiful hit!”
