QB (Black Diamond) defeats Robin Rhymes

Recap: From RBE, a competitive Robin Rhymes makes her name heard with 3 elongated but pretty solid rounds that flexed her versatility (esp. in round 2, where despite a few hiccups when it came to flow, she was able to edge thanks in part to a gang of sublime personals/bars). But opponent QB, continuing to show off in what’s been a dope 2023 for her, not only takes advantage of Ms. Rhymes prolongation with a 1st and 3rd round’s that were moreso efficient, but with a rich palette of stinging wordplay, fiery/aggressive name flips/bars and crazy, hard-hitting personals (esp. during a classic finale) handily earns the win.

Verdict: QB (Black Diamond) (W) 2-1

Favorite line: QB (Black Diamond) – “Bitch your career will never prosper, off your petty drama, fucking nigga’s in sewer leagues, Robin rhymes more like Robin Williams ‘cuz she be hung on the wrong things!”

Bonnie Godiva defeats Robin Rhymes

Recap: From RBE, while Robin Rhymes’ witty punches and gang of fiery personals supplied this 3-rounder with plenty of competition, a more versatile, wordplay-heavy, punchline-lit, brazen and also personal-crazy Bonnie Godiva would prove to be too much in each round, giving Bon-Bon a well-earned 30.

Verdict: Bonnie Godiva (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Bonnie Godiva – “Y’all gave me another bitch that you never believe in?, your name Rhyme but you’re never the reason!”

Robin Rhymes defeats Lady Caution

Recap: From QOTR, Robin Rhymes still needs to work on her delivery, one too many shots at Tay Roc might’ve cost her in the end and for all that insistence at going first to start the battle, how ironic it is that her opener was her weakest round. Still, a much stronger punch/name flip/personal game in rounds 2 and 3 by Robin combined with a 3rd round choke from Lady Caution, allows the Texas battler to take both of the latter rounds for the win.

Verdict: Robin Rhymes (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Robin Rhymes – “Hell, a tranny didn’t wanna suck your nigga dick and you was the next best thing!”

Benji Lolo defeats Robin Rhymes

Recap: “Shit, I could get a nigga but can’t keep a nigga, I gotta mouth on me!'”…a barrage of fiery/provocative punchlines, feelgood schemes and rigid name flips from Robin Rhymes in this 1-rounder from Kreo Battle League, certainly kept the crowd and her opponent in a frenzy, while keeping things competitive. But neither Rhymes’ rhymes or her sexy wardrobe could distract an aggressive Benji Lolo from consistently scoring with a plethora of stinging personals, wily name flips, witty burns, spicy set-ups and some piercing punches/gun bars to gain the win.

Verdict: Benji lolo (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Benji Lolo – “One night with me, you gonna have amazing raps…and a back brace!”

Fiirst Ladii Flamez defeats Robin Rhymes

Recap: Queen of the Ring 3-round battle between Fiirst Ladii Flamez and Robin Rhymes featured some hard-hitting punchlines, salacious personals, boastful barbs, righteous gun bars and plenty of Jakkboy Maine mentions. And while both ladies also suffered from a case of hiccups here and there, the battle itself stayed competitive with Rhymes attempting to make the case that she can flow just as nice as she looks, while Flamez, in full-pressed gangsta mode here, did pretty well for someone who reportedly battled on only 2 weeks prep. Round 2 is the difference maker however what with a punch-heavier Flamez taking round 1, while Rhymes, in part due to her opponent struggling with her flow, took round 2. That said, despite a dope turn from Robin, a more condensed and rebuttal-lit Flamez gets the edge here in the middle round for the win.

Verdict: Fiirst Ladii Flamez (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fiirst Ladii Flamez – “…Flamez ain’t lady like, facts, but I’d rather be respected on 10 toes than just admired on my back!”

Casey Jay defeats Robin Rhymes

Recap: While Casey Jay has established herself as one of the most versatile and fiercest puncher’s in the female battle rapper game, her knock for over-writing still shows up from time to time. Another example being here, versus fellow (by way of Dallas) Texan Robin Rhymes, in which Casey uses her mom (who was in the crowd) to cap a fire punchline of an already lengthy and fire 3rd round, gets a huge reaction from the crowd and instead of ending things there, goes on for another minute or so with bars on rehashed themes she’s already spouted. And while filler is a problem many battle rappers face, timing/being able to know when to punctuate your round and egotism when it comes to your pen (something I feel Chilla Jones dealt with early in his career) can all play a part when it comes to overkill. That said, after a rambunctious and punch-heavy on both sides (better consistency and more haymakers gave Casey the edge) 1st round, this one was pretty much all Ms. Jay as the San Antonio spitter (with an assist from Robin shortening a flow-challenged round 2) served up some fly rebuttals to go along with a gang of righteous punchlines, some exquisite wordplay, steely personals and flexing heat to beat back a still solid-punching at times, but not as steady Rhymes and earn the 30.

Verdict: Casey Jay (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Casey Jay – “My punches are like advice…easy to give, but hard to take!”
