Madface (DMV) defeats Profit

Recap: Everybody loves the guy/gal who’s really ‘Different!’. Yunno, that battler who brings a breath of fresh air to the game with their unique style or whathaveyou. It’s only natural to be up on the best kept secret. And while earlier this year we’ve seen PG’s like Gunpowder Patt and Jey The Nitewing bring their own distinct flair to the game, perhaps, the DMV’s Madface is ready to join the mix. Dishing left and right with righteous punchlines, pugnacious darts, bodacious personals, metaphorical shiners and steely name flips, here against a solid, ruminating (and eccentric) Profit, Madface puts on a confident and (his only struggle here was during the 3rd round where it looked like he might choke) sharp-witted show for 3 rounds (Profit, who got better with each round, was condensed and impressive enough in the 3rd to get a draw) to take the win.

Verdict: Madface (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Madface – “Yeah, you fought for this country, but they trying to build a wall to keep who look like you out…a retarded soldier, you Forrest Gump in a war with Trump!”

Yung Griz defeats Profit

Recap: As much as it’d be nice to see a Philly rapper breakout and become a star on the URL stage, I don’t think Profit will be that guy. Indeed, while his performance was top-notch, full of energy and kept you entertained, the bars themselves, were another subpar story brought to you from The City of Brotherly Love. That said, as easy vic for the consistently punch-centric, name flip spazzing and confident Yung Griz, who with this one should definitely be graduating from the PGs.

Verdict: Yung Griz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Yung Griz – “I talk wrong while I’m acting Savage, this the Wonder Years!”

Ralphy Gabbana and Profit [DEBATABLE]

Recap: In this Spanish-tinged PG matchup, Profit’s performance and unorthodox stylings may prove to be noteworthy in the long run, but heads shouldn’t sleep on the spiffy bars and effort from Ralphy Gabbana either. Indeed, with Gabbana displaying more consistency and (“URL gonna monetize the views, but either way my hands is on Profit!”) potency with his punches/schemes in the 1st round, the DMV rapper was able to take the lead, before a more enriched-with-the-bars Profit came back to edge the 2nd. In the deciding 3rd, Gabbana, despite reaching a little bit with the name flips, makes for a solid enough turn to match what was also a solid and versatile turn from Profit, who might’ve edged the round and won the battle if he had come cleaner.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Profit – “Plus I heard your bitch can’t cook, you should make her disappear, her rice and beans is trash, I’m chasing it, it’s weird!”
