Awthentic defeats Ru Bando

Recap: A highly competitive 3-rounder from We Go Hard between Awthentic and Ru Bando features a lot of ill street rhymes, lucid boasts. piercing name flips, fiery gun bars and hardbody punchlines from both battlers. But after the two split the opening rounds (had Awthentic taking round 1 and before Bando came back to edge round 2), it’s the slightly more consistent and punch-heavy Awthentic who edges the 3rd round for the win.

Verdict: Awthentic (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Awthentic – “Peep the plot, same scenario, I got a got a mask on but the music loud, I had to [stretches arms out like a gun] Rey Mysterio!”

Ru Bando defeats NXT

Recap: Impressive comeback here by Ru Bando, who after getting out-punched and extolling a gang of wayward angles (NXT’s usage of name flips not only sizzled, but it seemed like he trying to knock Bando’s lack of versatility in round 1 too) in the opening round, got his shit together in the latter rounds, connecting his punches better while unleashing a fly series of blistering gun lines, witty barbs, some dope wordplay and potent storytelling/name flips to take both the 2nd and 3rd rounds and beat back the performance-savvy and mayhem-lit, but not consistently hitting with the punches NXT.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “You ever fell asleep getting some pussy?, you’ll be laying in the box with your eyes closed!”

Jakkboy Maine defeats Ru Bando

Recap: Flexing throughout with a barrage of unorthodox punches and resonating yarns that can originate from anywhere, Jakkboy Maine gets back on his A-game to hold back a fiery, name flip-rich and pretty solid effort from Ru Bando, taking the first two rounds of this URL Survivor Series Onyx matchup for the win before Bando’s highly proficient 3rd did enough to avoid getting shutout.

Verdict: Jakkboy Maine (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Jakkboy Maine – “Yunno, the scariest thing about Jack in the box…yunno, the [Pop!] up!”

Jey The Nitewing defeats Ru Bando

Recap: Delivering consistently piercing punchlines with doses of braggadocio heat, flagrant personals and deft wordplay, even with a pontificating/throwaway 3rd round, Jey The Nitewing still scores a 30 and beats what was opponent Ru Bando’s (his 2nd round was lit, but still had dry spots) best effort of this Ultimate Madness tournament.

Verdict: Jey The Nitewing (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Jey The Nitewing – “I ain’t Your Honor, this a different court pressure…adapt to it!”

Ru Bando defeats Your Honor

Recap: Your Honor (who after a crazy dope 1st round seemed to use some recycled bars in the 2nd before giving away the 3rd) going on record and stating that he wasn’t that prepared for this battle due to some real life drama, does take some of the glare off of this win for Ru Bando. But for Rando, after all the heat he received from a subpar showing in round 1 of this tournament, at the very least, his ability here to put forth a solid performance and go back to that flexing, gun-bar happy and rapid-punching Bando we’ve seen before, might give him a shot in the next round of this tournament.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “They gonna charge me with murder in the 1st or the next degree, but I’m still gonna beat ya honor and still get the .25…double jeopardy!”

Ru Bando defeats Presidential Dubz

Recap: Granted, he was helped by a shitload of Presidential Dubz dry spots in the latter two rounds. But after getting served by his opponent’s more consistent and visceral shiners throughout the 1st round, the normally name-flip swinging and rapid-punching Ru Bando would make a workmanlike effort in mounting his comeback. The Bed-Stuy, BK, rapper mixing in some astute personals and rigid wordplay to his noted repertoire to edge a 2nd round he didn’t seem to have much chance of winning going in. Bando would then take advantage of another solid, but oft-redundant turn by Dubz in the deciding 3rd round with a more versatile, consistent and slightly more condensed turn that would edge him the win.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “I’m mad humble, but truthfully, Prezzy what the fuck was you thinking you was gonna do with me?, Ruger squeeze, off his top when I shoot the piece, they won’t recognize the 3rd for nuthin’…Martin Luther King!”

Ru Bando defeats Ish Mulah

Recap: Dope 1-rounder between Ish Mulah and Ru Bando sees them both deliver on their rhyme patterns. Ish, ever aggressive and bullish with the content, scored with a gang of hardbody shiners, while Bando flexed with a plethora of righteous gun chatter, stinging punchlines and scheming wordplay. No doubt, a close one. But with Bando overall coming more direct with the bars than his opponent, while also dropping more haymakers in less amount of time, the edge here goes to the kid from BK.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Run Bando – “You think you the face of this league ‘cuz you did great with Chess?, this .9 on my waist, body the face…Mr. Potato Head!”

Ru Bando defeats Kid Chaos

Recap: Often lost in Ru Bando’s penchant for gun bars and name flips is just how witty and wordplay-heavy he can be with the punches. That and the fact that Bando can get personal when he wishes too, certainly doesn’t qualify him for the ‘one dimensional’ lane that some of his peers might be quick to ascribe him too. Then too, if 90 percent gun bars and name flips gets you on a Smack stage, you’d be an idiot to change what got you there. And that’s a lesson happily Bando showcases here versus Kid Chaos. Predictable? Sure. But if you’re going to rely on oft-elongated schemes and personal tutorials that might be above your pay grade to beat a Bando that for the most part is on his A-game, you’re going to get edged in the 1st and 3rd rounds as Chaos does here and Bando’s gonna move on, dap you and keep doing him….as he should.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “This shot? disgusting, hideous, I’ll pop the spirit outta Kid…insidious!”

Quban defeats Ru Bando

Recap: Losing a 1-round battle after you were ahead on points is a rare occurrence, but it happens here as after killing shit with hardbody punchlines after scintillating name flips for 2/3rds of the battle, Ru Bando succumbs to a handful of reaches, some subpar darts, one too may shots at random peers in the crowd and an overall elongated turn that ended up being edged by a condensed, gritty, name-flip spazzing, gun bar-lit, visceral scheme-friendly and punch-heavy round by Quban.

Verdict: Quban (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Quban – “Glock 17 or 19, either way it’s the same Ru-tine [routine] in ya face!”

Ru Bando defeats Bubba Forde

Recap: Fierce 1-rounder from IBattle has Bubba Forde providing plenty of rambunctious heat that was reinforced by a steady stream of animated aggression. But Bubba’s lack of a consistent punch-game along with a Ru Bando who came equipped with plenty of piercing mayhem as well as rapid-fire punchlines that rarely missed their mark, would prove to be too formidable for Bubba in the end.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “I’ll catch him on the corner…you a rook!”

Ru Bando defeats E-City

Recap: Even with a slip-up as well as facing off against a gritty, solid and condensed showing from E City, Ru Bando’s wide array of potent name flips, piercing punchlines and head-ringing gun bars combine for the win in this 1-rounder from iBattleTV.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “I’ll pound the 5th like [smacks hand] ‘Little nigga, stop touching shit!'”

Ru Bando defeats YaBoyClip

Recap: A few scattered shiners for YaBoyClip, but an inconsistent round filled with some lazy punches/set-ups stood little chance against Ru Bando’s delicious gun lines, witty barbs and repeatedly heated punchlines.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “He in the window?, that’s cool, now the beam pop, I’ll lock on his home…then I squeeze, he’ll get a screenshot!”

Ru Bando defeats Kyd Slade

Recap: In a close and competitive battle of hardbody rhythms (Kyd Slade) versus a punchline/name flip enthusiast (Ru Bando), the latter wins out as despite an equal amount of haymakers in each of the early rounds, one too many dry spots by Slade gave Bando the edge in both. The 3rd round, kept an already entertaining matchup captivating as each battler not only kept their pen game sharp, but utilized tag-ins that while being more to Bando’s benefit, still made for a debatable round what with Slade doing more on his own.

Verdict: Ru Bando (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “I got a heart, so I hold the ratchet and let it tear, but that shotgun turn him into recess…Kid’s [Kyd’s] everywhere!”

Ru Bando and Chris Mills [DEBATABLE]

Recap: One of the punch-heaviest, dopest and competitive 1-round battles you’ll see, Ru Bando and Chris Mills both bring their A-game’s to a We Go Hard match that should’ve gotten a lot more attention in 2017. Bando, a stickler for sheer mayhem and rapidly punching with plenty of vigor, head-swinging gun bars and short, but perfunctory punchlines, rarely minced words. While Boston spitter Mills, kept the scoreboard lit with a boatload of thrifty wordplay, fire-set-ups, real street shit, some ridiculous name flips and suave (“I got a mean jab, speed bag, see how I roll with them punches?!”) punchlines that had the crowd hype. A tight one with an almost equal amount of haymakers, what Bando lacked in versatility was made up for with slightly less dry spots from his opponent, thus, we call this one a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Ru Bando – “It ain’t a firm handshake when I squeeze the grip, ‘cuz I’m wilding with the sub like the teacher is sick!”
