Bill Collector defeats Moses West

Recap: In what was an aggressive on both sides, but pretty underwhelming 3-rounder from KCBL & Barburians Battle Arena, Bill Collector uses doses of self-deprecating humor, some solid punchlines and personals and bouts of frequent mayhem to beat back a mostly pedestrian punching and personal-light Moses West, handily taking rounds 1 and 3 when he didn’t have a debatable 2nd.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You ain’t really booty, just an ass shot!”

Moses West defeats Daylyt

Recap: Damn, antics or no antics, respect his grind because Daylyt stay battling. Still, as shown here against Moses West, taking too many battles back to back can be a hindrance esp. when it comes to recycled (see: Daylyt vs. Pat Stay) bars. In addition a lukewarm 3rd round proved to be too much of a liability when trying to keep up with West’s, delivery, derisive (“Battle raps biggest celebrity, all you had to was sign away your integrity”) personals and righteous (“It’s Florida, your rep’s like your vote nigga, it don’t count!”) wordplay.

Verdict: Moses West (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Daylyt – “You say you’re not afraid of birds, well you better fear the hawk, [cuz] all you gonna hear is ‘blah, blah, blah’ like I don’t want to hear you talk”

JC defeats Moses West

Recap: In his bid to take on every local battle rap star in the U.S. JC ventures down south to take on Duval County, Florida hometown hero Moses West. After pretty much taking off the first round and allowing Moses to get his (“I’m like Justin Timberlake, how I get rid of JC”) shine in front of his fans, JC wakens up and gets nice with his, edging round two with some pointed rebuts on Moses’ continual jokes on his infamous dance video along with some visceral (“…and with the ratchet in my hand, I’ll clap a LeBron fan, no witnesses”) set-ups and nice punchlines. The last round saw West more concerned with playing to the crowd (perhaps because he thought he had the first couple of rounds in hand) than batting his opponent, giving room for JC to earn the win with some more efficient bars and ardent (“We could have Good Times, but I’m James Evans, even in front of Florida I’m still head of the house”) wordplay.

Verdict: JC (W) 2-1

Favorite line: JC – “My niggas even feel like it’s a bout to pop, them torches getting raised, y’all like when y’all mama used to cut y’all hair, you gotta get forced in to the fade”
