Recap: Equipped with enough versatility what with witty one-liners, straight shots at his opponent’s penchant for gun bars and some fierce punchlines/rebuttals, going into the deciding 3rd round, Tez looked like he was going to take this bout against Franchise. However, a more condensed and strong 3rd from Franchise combined with an out-of-nowhere failure to remember his bars (tho he did almost make it through with freestyles) by Tez, gives Franchise the vic.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – “I’m knocking on your door with [makes arm like gun] an arm out like a good pastor!”

Heartless defeats Tez

Recap: In a one-rounder versus S.O.N,S.’ Heartless, Tez combines some mean (“Talking about he real, this nigga frail, how you gonna father figure you rep the SONS and hang with a Con that never been to jail!”) personals with animated schemes and gay (“When you and your man hug, you look like y’all doing a two-way back pocket check!”) riffs to make it close. But Heartless’ punchline-heavy arsenal doesn’t just pack plenty of (“My gun got a body on it like a piggyback ride!”; “If you think you winning tonight, nigga you dumb as fuck, oh wait this nigga came from the D, this nigga must be nuts!”) heat, but a couple of (“Nigga, I’ll aim at his brain, blew the Tek, got rid of all of the stuffy nose like Mucinex!”) in his nose like haymakers that had the home crowd gawking and a more consistent delivery that while making ti look easy, was simply what you’d expect from an able vet.

Verdict: Heartless (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Heartless – “If he say something wrong, I’m slapping him, that’s because I’m a man and I stand for something like an acronym”

Tez defeats Sno

Recap: When it comes to one-round, unlimited battles there’s two extremes to remember: Charlie Clips vs X-Factor where Clips showed that taking advantage of going unlimited can work in your favor if you’re consistently nice throughout your round. And then there’s Johnie Alcatraz versus Qleen Paper, where Qleen showed that even with unlimited time you can choose to pack so many punches within a short time frame and still win a battle, no matter how long your opponent went. In this battle pitting Sno against Tez, Tez goes the Clips route, taking up more then half the battle and delivering a roundhouse of fierce personals, nice punchlines, nice flips, (“I don’t know what I’m messing with, I mean he talk white, he rep Latino, fuck is this nigga, Cauexican?”) jokes and aggressive bars. In the meantime while Sno had a few (the “….back to token, ain’t that changing the game?” line was mean) moments, besides the usual aggressiveness from the outset the bar game just wasn’t there, much less the typical schemes, delivery, personals and execution that you’re used to seeing from Mr. LaRocksta, all told making for a standout win for Tez to add to his resume.

Verdict: Tez (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Tez – ” [Short pause] I ain’t forget my bars, I’m next to Sno [snow] I can’t imagine a better time then now to chill my nigga”

Mark Miner defeats Tez

Recap: Nice battle between Mark Miner and Tez. Close throughout with Miner spitting a dope 1st round (“Wash who you push up on, before we do our homework, find his home, rush in the door liek we late for work, toolies squirt, gotta blaze his top, casual shirt, when I address a nigga it’s always business first”)to take the early lead, while Tez straight (“I be cool, then I throw angry punches, that’s a mood swing”) spazzed in the 3rd to easily take that round. Thought it came down to the second with Miner edging it with better personals (“You a comedian, we battle rapping, which makes you Chocolate Drop, you be out here on some joking shit”), delivery and wordplay.

Verdict: mark Miner (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Mark Miner – “You still got time to chill because you got depressing battles”

Piranha defeats Tez

Recap: Surviving a 1st round choke as well as opponent’s Tez witty barbs (that included some social media exposing in round 3) and gritty personals throughout the match, Piranha gets back on his grind with a spicy Looney Tunes scheme and a series of consistently nice, rapid fire punches in the latter rounds to beat back the less formidable Tez for the win.

Verdict: Piranha (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Piranha – “Speaking of rappers, this nigga talking like he extra ill?, this what Meek Mill would look like without the record deal!”
