Chilla Jones defeats RemyD

Recap: A battle rap staple in St. Louis, RemyD returns to the stage for a rare appearance and uses his poetic, rapid-punching style to give Chilla Jones all he can handle in this 1-rounder from Street Status. But despite struggling a bit to keep his flow together mid-round, against an opponent who was mostly pedestrian with his bars, the Kingpen’s fiery schemes/personals, formidable name flips and spicy punches prove to be too much in the end.

Verdict: Chilla Jones (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Chilla Jones – “I’ll light him up, give him plenty from the Glock, have one sent [cent] to his head…that’s a penny for his thoughts!”

Pass defeats RemyD

Recap: A love for switching flow patterns, speed rapping, wordplay and spicy punchlines by both RemyD and Pass makes for an intriguing 3-rounder on KOTD between these two and the battle lives up to the suspense, as two rhymeslingers keep it close throughout. However, after a debatable round 1, despite a pair of pretty solid, versatile and stylistic turns by RemyD, it’s a slightly more turned up, wordplay-lit, set-up/haymaker-heavy and scathing with the personals Pass who edges rounds 2 (a classic) and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Pass (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Pass – “You ain’t famous, but a pound in front of you will make your name a trending topic!”

RemyD and Hitman Holla [DEBATABLE] (Rematch)

Recap: Classic Fight Klub battle between (“Your rims don’t turn, your lyrics don’t burn, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s as far as I’m concerned!”) Hitman Holla and RemyD didn’t allow for stumbling, hence a flow-challenged Remy having his 2nd round cut short, before a couple of nice freestyles by Remy in the deciding 3rd round got him a….sudden death OT, which while totally unfair, was no fault of Hitman’s, allowing for Holla to ‘comeback’ with a tie after spitting a solid OT round after Remy slips up once again in the extra round.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: RemyD – “You could tell that I’m the answer, like what come after the equal sign!”

B. Magic defeats RemyD

Recap: Dope 1-rounder from Street Status between RemyD and B-Magic features plenty of boastful barbs, piercing punchlines, solid wordplay and witty shiners. And while both battlers delivered standout turns, a more set-up rich and haymaker-lit Magic gets the edge here.

Verdict: B-Magic (W) 1-0

Favorite line: B-Magic – “Like a Dodger better charge when you see me, your bitch said your Lil’ Jon couldn’t skeet-skeet!”

Arsonal da Rebel defeats RemyD

Recap: Showing that he takes no mercy on out-of-town spitters, Arsonal goes ham and spazzes on RemyD’s midwest flow and significant others throughout this tournament battle from Fight Klub. In order to finish the kill and leave no witnesses the coup-de-grace comes when da Rebel decides that even the kids can not be spared: “I’ll kidnap your child, shove a bomb down his throat and blow that little muthafukka into several slices!” It’s a wrap.

Verdict: Arsonal (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Arsonal – “Your bitch, she a fiend, but she the queen of the deep throat, that bitch will suck the fucking motor off a speed boat”

Yung Ill defeats RemyD

Recap: It’s an easy win for Yung Ill here against a filler-prone RemyD, as Ill not only dispenses gritty (“How you rap about committing crimes…chill, you couldn’t do penitentiary time behind mini-blinds!”) street lines with aggressive consistency, but fiery punchlines.personals and an early “Gun So Big…” bar that showed how much the creative juices were flowing.

Verdict: Yung Ill (W) 2-0

Favorite line: Yung Ill – “Catch ya at the laundromat, your son by ya…they gonna be like ‘Damn, how he fit two bodies in one dryer!'”

RemyD defeats Hitman Holla

Recap: They’d battle again later on in the Fight Klub, but this one-rounder clearly goes to RemyD, whose more consistently stronger punchlines and fierce wordplay beat Hitman Holla’s less potent braggadocio lines.

Verdict: RemyD (W) 1-0

Favorite line: RemyD – “Flip the on switch, this when you realize the hook I catch you with ain’t a chorus!”
