Oppa defeats Th3 Saga

Recap: From URL’s Outside 7 card, dominating both of the early rounds with barrels of wicked humor, a plethora of hard-hitting personals, witty impressions of his opponent, fly name flips, rich storytelling, boastful barbs and stinging punchlines/similes, Oppa also takes advantage of a mostly pedestrian and choppy flowing Th3 Saga to handily take rounds 1 and 2 for the win, before a 3rd round equally efficient by both battlers when it came to righteous darts and fruitful punches makes for a debatable and allows Saga to avoid the shutout.

Verdict: Oppa (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Oppa – “Don’t click it Saga it’s a trap, a pop-up ad appears, this son-of-a-bitch gonna look, Mary Magdelene, Jesus Saga that’s the oldest trick in the book!”

Hansel and Oppa [DEBATABLE]

Recap: From the Riot Network, a dope 3-rounder here between Oppa and Hansel. The former while often performance-lit, delivering plenty of righteous darts, stifling (“You don’t like nigga’s flipping Hans hoe, I got a whole hands flow, shoot you and C50s in your center, it’s hands broke, hands blow, I’m lifting Hans and hands so I’ll put hands on Hans, my hands cold!”) schemes/name flips, boastful barbs, witty personals, formidable screeds and braggadocious zingers, while the ever-aggressive Hansel kept the heat on his opponent with a gang of gritty punchlines, versatile name flips, flippant personals, righteous storytelling of his own and some killer punches/similes. Close throughout, an equally efficient and haymaker-lit round 1 makes for a debatable, before the two split (Oppa edging round 2 and Hansel taking round 3) the latter two hard-hitting rounds for a debatable.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: Hansel – “I ain’t been the same nigga since the day I lost my Dad, I was 14, I’m 28, I damn near don’t know the half!”

Oppa defeats Bigg K

Recap: From iBattleTV, although he had enough punching ower in both the 1st and 3rd rounds to keep it close, some subpar punches and angles by Bigg K through this 3-rounder combined with an opponent in Oppa who outside of being a little elongated (which helped get him edged in round 1), frequently hit up the scoreboard (esp. during a sublime round 2) with a wide variety of gritty wordplay, clever punches, hitting personals and witty barbs/storytelling to take the 2nd and 3rd rounds for the upset win.

Verdict: Oppa (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Oppa – “If you thinking about any Opp besides me, you shouldn’t have caught this fade, if you thinking about rapping with Roc, yu shouldn’t have Walked This Way!”

Rum Nitty defeats Oppa

Recap: A dope 3-rounder from iBattle sees Oppa with a gang of astute lyricism, standout wit and piercing punches keep it close. But with a slightly steadier and more condensed bag of head-ringing gun bars, gritty wordplay, crazy set-ups and obscene punchlines, it’s the veteran Rum Nitty who edges rounds 2 and 3 for the win after a debatable round one.

Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “I’ll get dude smoked, acting like he one of them one’s, this muthafucka is a bum, have you ever seen a cokehead lining up a hit in their upper lip?, you just bumping your gums!”

Oppa and Danny Myers [DEBATABLE]

Recap: A blazing 1-rounder from TBG sees Danny Myers delivering a barrage of boastful (“My nigga’s asked me, ‘Are you done with OPP?’, yeah you know me for being treacherous!”) barbs, graphic mayhem, sporty personals and raucous lyrical darts to get his point across. But refusing to bow down in the midst of his opponent’s fiery comeuppance, Maryland up-n-comer Oppa, via a gang of mocking/hard-hitting personals, witty zingers and righteous set-ups/punches scores with enough bangers to make this one a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Oppa – “Danny Myers, father, battle rapper, two difficult roles you’re not balancing well, your son got a Danny Myers conversation at 22 and Lil Slap got a battle at 12!”

Yunus defeats Oppa

Recap: Maryland vs. Maryland. Oppa vs. Yunus on GTX in what apparently is a rematch between these two young up-n-comers battlers. And while the battel was filled with lots of energy on competitive flair on both sides, the end result was pretty decisive as Yunus’ often-exquisite wordplay, crazy schemes, witty barbs, piercing combo punches and more intricate raps/boasts were enough to score more than enough haymakers in both rounds 1 and 2 for the win before a performance-heavy Oppa was finally able to match his animated artillery with more substance and efficiency in the 3rd to edge it there and avoid a shutout.

Verdict: Yunus (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Yunus – “I could make a line about anything, I’m pathological!”
