Th3 Saga defeats G Lowe

Recap: From IBattleTV, G Lowe and Th3 Saga put on a slugfest for 3 rounds, one littered with a gang of gritty punchlines, rigid Christian-themes darts, some piercing personals, rich storytelling bars and hardbody heaters. After the two split the first two rounds, another close and exciting round, the 3rd, gets edged by a more consistently potent and slightly more haymaker-lit Saga (who also had a boatload of dope name flips throughout this battle) for the win.

Verdict: Th3 Saga (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Th3 Saga – “You’ll always be below 3 of them things and I follow under the Trinity!”

Sheed Happens defeats G Lowe

Recap: Sheed Happens needs a congregation. Really now as the Maryland rapper’s extra-rich performance, unorthodox punches, excellent storytelling, fierce struggle bars and rigid trap talk could certainly keep a bunch of church folks coming back as much as it can keep a battle rap crowd enlightened. Add to the mix some stirring name flips and after a debatable 1st round (thanks in part to Sheed’s elongated turn), with a spitfire 2nd round coupled with a dope 3rd, Sheed gets the win in this Survivor Series Onyx battle versus a hard-hitting G Lowe, who once again delivered a pretty solid effort (tho he might want to work on his angles and definitely should add more wit to his repertoire), but just couldn’t quite keep up with his opponent’s more versatile and grittier performance.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “You ever got a nigga with a key on the elevator?, yeah that was wrong on so many levels!”

G Lowe defeats FATE

Recap: Pretty solid and gritty (esp. in round 3) performance by FATE in this 3-round battle from The Riot Network, gets beat back by an aggressive throughout, gun bar-lit, set up-rich and more versatile punching G Lowe in both of the opening rounds, giving this glasses on glasses matchup to the dude from ATL.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: G Lowe – “A couple of screws loose, I’ll knock the shit out you like prune juice!”

King Shadow and G Lowe [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Both G Lowe and King Shadow get equally busy in this fiery 1-rounder from Pyrexx Battle League. Indeed, for all of Shadow’s fiery snapping, rich name flips and set-up/gun bar-savvy theatrics, a versatile punching. witty line (“Nigga, you rap like the straight version of J2!”) tossing, freestyle adept and piercing wordplay/name flip spouting G Lowe was able to keep up with his opponent’s run to make this bout a draw.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: King Shadow – “Remember how you used to argue with a nigga in middle school?, I bet I pull more hoes than you!”

G Lowe defeats Philly The Genius

Recap: The brazen trap talk stood out most, but also extra spicy were the name flips, witty barbs, flagrant gun lines and fiery punchlines as G Lowe takes this Art of Words 305 1-rounder from a solid, but also inconsistent Philly The Genius.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “Now we moving, long nose on The Genius like Isaac Newton!”

G Lowe defeats Will Major

Recap: On point throughout with a rampant and fiery punch game that dished out some exquisite name flips, head-swinging mayhem and piercing 4-bar set-ups, G Lowe easily beats back a solid, but oft-pedestrian bar spouting Will Major in this 1-rounder from Bayou Battle League.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “You better write write, cuz for the right price, you get hit with a nice right, go night night, chopper lift Will [wheel] in the air…bike life!”

G Lowe defeats Sleepy Haze

Recap: The very loud and raucous stylings of Sleepy Haze are able to score here and there with some witty barbs and astute punches. But in this 1-rounder BattleRap Society, too many pedestrian bars from Haze and G Lowe’s nifty, but still potent punch, personal and gun bar/name flip game are enough to silence any blowback.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “Bitch, I’m lead gripping and you gets no attention…Meg Griffin!”

Skates defeats G Lowe

Recap: Name flips serve as the difference here as in what was a scintillating, gun bar-heavy, (Skates: “Cave Gang look like the Lakers so you trying to tag along, but you got enough to get the King here, but now the Magic gone!”) punch-drunk, (G Lowe: “I had options, I told Norbes lock in whatever you think is smarter…and the best bitch from Tennessee Volunteered…Candace Parker!”) personal-lit and close battle between rising stars G Lowe and Skates. Indeed, with the two battlers spitting a equal gang of gritty street narratives (along with a few witty barbs mixed in here and there to add a little levity) during their rounds that kept the crowd tuned in throughout the battle, the big guy from Tennessee was able to stand out with his usage of more intricate wordplay when it came to his opponent’s moniker. All in all, one of the dopest PG’s on record, but the edge here goes to Skates for rounds 1 and 3.

Verdict: Skates (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Skates – “My homie a ho, talking about I ain’t going 3-0, won’t believe me till he see the body…well Lowe [low] and behold!”

G Lowe defeats Goddie Lumenati

Recap: Goddie Lumenati’s derisive punchlines and scathing name flips make for some delicious haymakers here and there in this 1-round battle from GOTG against G Lowe. But one too many pedestrian bars from Goddie, plus a more consistent, punch-heavy, witty, name flip spicy, gun line spazzing and off-the-dome-nice-with-his G Lowe gives Mr. Gun Barz n Glasses the win.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “Snitch nigga, what the fuck is dirt to a ditch digger!”

G Lowe defeats J Mase

Recap: Bullpen Battle League 1-rounder between G Lowe and J Mase comes with some fiery darts from the Jersey-bred Mase. But an at times righteous G Lowe on top of his game with a gang of blistering personals, bruising punchlines and often witty bangers proves to be too much for his topsy-turvy opponent in the end.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “Homey your life is trash, you don’t even wear your glasses better than me!”

G Lowe defeats J Slash

Recap: A witty at times, mayhem-enhanced and blistering Proving Grounds punchfest between J Slash and G Lowe sees the latter take it in the end as after getting edged by his punch-heavy and more condensed opponent in round 1, G Lowe sticks with his arsenal of consistently raucous bangers and ringing set-ups that with the help of Slash struggling a bit with his flow in the deciding 3rd round, gives Lowe the latter two rounds and the win.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: G Lowe – “You a 80s baby so you should know the .40 ain’t far!”

G Lowe defeats Dre Dennis

Recap: Hindsight is 20/20, but damn if Dre Dennis had chosen to spread out some of those hard-hitting and witty personals he used in the 3rd earlier in this battle against G Lowe. Because that could’ve been the difference here in what turned out to be a pretty competitive and close match after a one-sided 1st round. Instead, by relying too heavily on his standard usage of gun bars (which were hit-n-miss here) and hurt by a few reaches in both the 1st and 2nd rounds, even while getting back on his grind in the latter half of the middle round, it was too late for Dre, esp. when it came to going up against G Lowe’s consistently combative, but also exquisite punch game in the early rounds. The ‘Gun Bars n Glasses’ rapper, after putting together a sublime 1st round, coming back with another dope turn in the 2nd that featured a variety of piercing personals, cocky heat and flexing punches to gain the win, before Dre’s personal-driven comeuppance in the 3rd allowed him to avoid getting 30’d.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: G Lowe – “It’s one button on the stick…I brought Atari back!”

G Lowe defeats So Severe

Recap: Dope 1-rounder here from ABR sees So Severe get busy with a loud and aggressive mix of persistent mayhem and bruising punchlines. Still, for all of his opponent’s heat, it’s a more versatile, witty, consistently punch-heavy and wordplay-lit G Lowe who edges this one for the win.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “You light-skin, you probably apologize for getting cheated on!”

G Lowe defeats Tha Prafessa

Recap: Relentlessly spouting stinging punchline after punchline with a nice mixture of flexing name flips, piercing personals and rigid gun lines dipped in just to get his point across, G Lowe easily beats back a hardbody and witty at times, but nowhere-near-as-nice The Prafessa in this 1-rounder from Carolina Barrs.

Verdict: G Lowe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: G Lowe – “You the nigga we send to the store for the wraps and the snacks, always got your hand out but never getting no daps!”

Eazy The Block Captain defeats G. Lowe

Recap: From WBL Philly, all Eazy The Block Captain here as the PA emcee’s ability to not only kick a gang of consistently spitfire punches put him ahead, but the versatility, rigid name flips/schemes/gun bars and knack for inserting wit in his even more brazen of rhymes combines to overwhelm (esp. during a sublime 2nd round) a gritty-punching, but topsy-turvy (esp. when he was wasting bars on one of his peers on stage) G. Lowe.

Verdict: Eazy The Block Captain (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Eazy The Block Captain – “I’ll never have a Debo or Craig momemt…why?, ‘cuz I’ll just shoot the nigger!”
