Marv Won defeats Ace Amin

Recap: That Ace Amin ‘back in a box’ freestyle to open his 2nd round (which he edged) that was directed at Last Second Sea capo Emerson Kennedy was crazy! However, withstanding way too many instances that saw him struggle with his flow to go along with a bundle of pedestrian bars (tho he did dish some ill street rhymes here and there) throughout the battle and an opponent in Marv Won who kept it on-point for 3 rounds via a boatload of righteous darts, fierce punchlines, rich storytelling and solid name flips/jokes, inevitably it’s the longtime Detroit vet who takes rounds 1 and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Marv Won (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Marv Won – “Let me be frank, I only did this to make a couple of Benjamins flip, I’ll put 10 in ya whip, for acting lowkey spicy…like a cinnamon stick!”

Shotgun Suge defeats Ace Amin

Recap: Irony noted. That is Ace Amin challenging a vet like Shotgun Suge on his rapping ability when the former continues to utilize a tough guy act (bumping Suge like 3 times and even going at it with a fan in the crowd) more suited for the UFC than a battle rap stage. Nonetheless, overall Ace was still pretty solid (esp. during round 1, his best) here in this URL ‘Homecoming 2′ matchup’, keeping it competitive throughout with a speedy barrage of street-themed lyrical swordmanship, gritty punchlines and some hard-hitting personals. But this one was Suge. The more efficient NJ to Atlanta spitter taking advantage of his opponent using way too many lackluster Suge-isms to go with some reaches and righteous banter that went nowhere, but also scoring left and right (esp. during a spitfire round 1) with a shitload of fire name flips, mocking/witty personals, some dope wordplay, sublime trap talk/gun bars and searing punches of his own to earn the 30.

Verdict: Shotgun Suge (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Shotgun Suge – “We got a full house, he came here to out-tough me?, Ace high he trying to bluff me!”

Rum Nitty defeats Ace Amin

Recap: From URL’s Summer Madness 13, a highly entertaining 3-rounder between Rum Nitty and Ace Amin comes down to the latter unleashing a wide array of tricks (including a righteous, URL-friendly and classic 3rd round) and fiery wordplay throughout the battle. While Nitty’s mostly sublime punch-game, gritty name flips, performance-rich lines (and shoulder bumbs) and stinging gun bars proved again why he’s one of the best in the game. A definitive crowd-pleaser with both battlers on their A-game, this one comes down to the slightly more condensed and steady Nitty edging rounds 1 and 2 for the win, before Ace reversed the V in the aforementioned 3rd.

Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “I get to tripping out the gate, I told Beas, send direct payments this man dead, I’m a hit the gun store for an SK and a Mac 10, vest plate and I grab lead, I went tool shoppin’, like a hardware store, then I left Ace with a flat head [flathead]!”

Danny Myers and Ace Amin [DEBATABLE]

Recap: From URL’s Traffic 4 card, outside of struggling a bit with his flow in round 2, Ace Amin gives a standout performance for 3 rounds here against Danny Myers. The Maryland gunner (esp. during a superlative round 1) delivering a boatload of hard-hitting punchlines, righteous but captivating street talk, wily/mocking personals, some killer wordplay and of course, a shoulder bump at Danny’s expense to make sure you’re paying attention. Besides his opponent tho, there was only one here for Ace: his longwinded rounds that not including the opening round, couldn’t consistently match his heat. And a more condensed Myers would take advantage of that, all the while dishing his usual array of thrifty mayhem, some stinging personals, fancy ‘parallell universe’ bars, sordid (“I’ll shoot him while he on the toilet, he finally got his ‘Holy shit!'”) punchlines/schemes, lofty personals and even a few spicy rebuttals to edge round 2 and tie things up before the two battlers had an equal proportion of syrupy raps in the 3rd to make this one debatable.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You got all those muthafuckin’ kids…everyone in here know you don’t know how to use a Magnum!”

Ace Amin defeats Cortez

Recap: Controversial, judged battle between Ace Amin and Cortez (who somehow got the win via the judges) with $5K on the line sees the former Goonie level up (after losing round 1 to a combo of Tez’s stifling/versatile/raucous punches and a couple of unforced verbal errors) with a speedy/steady (we’re not counting stumbles that occur when the opponent is talking thru your turn here) barrage rich multi’s/name flips, hard-hitting personals, righteous street talk and stinging punchlines to score more than enough haymakers (esp. in round 2) to take both of the latter rounds over his sometimes redundant (tho Cor’s timeline angle was fly) and flow-challenged opponent for the win.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “How you gonna eat off a dead body when all you do is vault yourself?!”

Ace Amin defeats Jimz

Recap: In what was altogether a pretty competitive 3-rounder from URL, a confident and angle-lit Ace Amin puts away the shoulder bumps and instead gets busy with a boatload of spicy name flips/gun bars, slick-talking darts, some solid wordplay and a bunch of boastful/piercing street missives to beat back a witty at times, righteous (esp. during a dope, tho often indirect 3rd round) and personal-lit, but also not as consistent and a bit prone to unforced errors Jimz.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You gotta work out and keep a gun ‘cuz ain’t no protein shake good enough for a mill replacement!”

Ace Amin and John John Da Don [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Plenty of buildup for this John John Da Don vs. Ace Amin Bullpen battle, but was it worth an entire 50 minutes? Not so much as both Ace and John John had one too many moments of running back bars and filler throughout the bout. Still a solid matchup considering all the backstory here (esp. JJDD’s history with the Goonies), all the pre-match interviews and who to believe when it comes who did what and when as far as previous run-ins on the street. Gritty personals, as expected, pretty much dominated this battle tho what with John John bringing up everything from Ace’s notorious prison bid to his love for interviews to his battle rap flaws to his emotional (“You can’t tell a man how he should react to any harsh threats, only one to respond to these bold types…large Tek’s [texts]!”) idiosyncrasies. All the while, the ever aggressive Ace showed zero restraint in getting in his opponent’s head via a bunch of gripping punches/schemes on JJDD’s alleged sexual misdeeds, penchant for tall tales as well as his battle vet rep to go along with some dope off-the-dome heat, piercing punches and other performance-enhanced mayhem. A pretty solid battle that was also intriguing due to the large, mask-less crowd that looked on despite a pandemic still being in the midst, after a debatable round 1, we got a punch-heavier JJDD taking the 2nd before an angle-lit and highly personal Ace came back to take the 3rd and make this one debatable.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “This cannot be, I gave 10 years to the system and I got free, you gave to this culture and you got me!”

Ace Amin defeats Ty Pretty

Recap: One-rounder from Open Society Battle League, just when you thought Ty Pretty was making quite an impact with a bold and righteous turn devoted to separating real street dudes from battle rap pipe dreamers, Ace Amin pulls a Bigg K, pulls out the paperwork for the fans and proceeds to go ham on his opponent’s past misdeeds, which included accusations of rape with a gang of steely punches and scathing personals that not only got more stifling as the battle went on, but also handed Ace the vic.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “The jig is up, nigga what, I got my name ‘cuz my aim straight, my whole hood know how I give it up, you got yours probably ‘cuz you like to tie pretty women up, he’s sick as fuck!”

Ace Amin defeats Fonz

Recap: Sometimes your reputation can proceed you and perhaps that’s why Ace Amin lost this battle on the judge’s cards in the building. Indeed, frankly speaking and even with an embarrassing 2nd round choke, when it came to material and performance, Ace’s was better overall than Fonz’s in both the 1st and 3rd rounds. And isn’t it just supposed to be about bars? Because for all of Ace’s silly tough guy tactics throughout this battle (as well as his choppy flow), the former Gooonie’s rapid punchline game, fiery bully bars, steely/witty punchlines and mocking personals in the aforementioned rounds not only had more bite than Fonz’s did, but also lost in the commentary concerning this battle was Fonz’s own struggle’s with keeping his flow together as well as the Cleveland battler using name flips we’ve heard before on Ace. But when you’re a battler rapper becoming more and more known for bumping opponent’s in battles, near-fight’s (including one here), interviews and slip-ups than your ability to rap, maybe it’s time to hit the reset button on your career, especially after you blew a chance to win $25K.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “Me nigga, I play with Glock .9’s and hecklers, when your serial [cereal] scratch it’s because you changed your mind ’bout breakfast!

Brooklyn Hanz defeats Ace Amin

Recap: Brooklyn Hanz and Ace Amin trade a gang of aggressive street missives, boastful barbs and real, raw hood narratives in this Quarterfinal matchup from URL’s Ultimate Madness. A close one through and through with a bit of a flwo challenge from both battlers, after Ace edged the 1st round and Hanz edged the 2nd, it’s a slightly more punch-heavy and witty Hanz who edges the deciding 3rd for the win.

Verdict: Brooklyn Hanz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Brooklyn Hanz – “Ace, you look like a flying monkey, from The Wiz, bearded wig from a violent junkie!”

Ace Amin defeats Bad Newz

Recap: A battle that didn’t quite live up to the hype, but still had a bunch of controversy come with it due to Bad Newz supposedly dedicating his entire 2nd round (which he clearly didn’t) to some allegation Ace Amin made against him beforehand, this Ultimate Madness matchup stayed close despite both combatants dishing a boatload of pedestrian lines and subpar name flips in between your usual fare of boastful stunting, laissez-faire street theatrics and slick personals. Aggressive throughout with plenty of effort what with $25K on the line from both battlers, a more condensed Ace Amin with the hotter lines in both the 1st and 3rd rounds, gets the edge here.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You will never pop, I hate to tell y’all, when it comes to Bad Newz there’s never a right time for it!

Ripp defeats Ace Amin

Recap: Brutally taken apart by Goonie capo Nu Jerzey Twork some years back, in this 1-rounder from Showtime Battle Arena, Ripp uses a wide load of visceral schemes, nifty punchlines, spicy personals and earnest mayhem to get a little revenge and beat back a pretty solid at times, but wildly inconsistent and shortened turn from now-former Goonie Ace Amin.

Verdict: Ripp (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ripp – “I don’t even need to mask up, I know you live by a code of silence, barrel full of sick shit, hitting everybody…Coronavirus!”

Ace Amin defeats Holmzie The God

Recap: Capped by a gritty, aggressive, superbly-executed, mayhem-lit, performance-rich and punch-heavy round 1, Ace Amin manages to hold on with a slightly more condensed, but just as raucous 2nd round to edge that one and beat back a versatile throughout, gun bar-waving and name flip/punch-savvy, but also a little too indirect at times and punch-predictable (tho he still got better with each round, so much so that he won the 3rd) Holmzie Da God in this dope Banned battle from URL.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You bi-polar, everything black and white?, [click, click] now your mouth full of gray matter!”

Swamp defeats Ace Amin

Recap: Now if only Ace Amin can apply the same focus and energy he has for marketing and promoting his battles to the ring…he could become one of greats. In the meantime, we’re left with gritty street narratives, rich schemes and a gang of lofty wordplay that too often get interrupted by Ace’s lack of preparation or in this case a boatload of slip-ups in his biggest battle yet here against Swamp from the Smack Volume 5 card. Ace’s many miscues, pedestrian bars and near chokes aside, at least Swamp showed up. The South Carolina rising star flexing for 3 rounds with a variety of stinging punchlines, lucid urban street fare and a plethora of spicy personals and other well-meaning, but killer gun bars that gave him a 30 for this much hyped battle.

Verdict: Swamp (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Swamp – “My bitch she couldn;t make this trip, told her I love her, she told me go fuck myself, now she on Pay Per View watching me do me!”

Ace Amin defeats Yung Deezy

Recap: 1-round battle from GOTG sees Ace Amin dishing continuous mayhem all the while sparing no one, including the kids with sizzling gun bars, stinging schemes, plenty of raucous punchlines and even a frenzied cameo from up-n-comer Sheed Happens. All done to beat a solid at times, but oft-redundant and pedestrian turn from Yung Deezy.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “If a nigger trip I’ll let it sing like ’99 beers on the wall’!”

Houndawg Buck50 defeats Ace Amin

Recap: The poetic, but O.G.-type stylings of Houndawg Buck50 can come off a little preachy at times, but more often than not, they’re not only rich with stifling wisdom, but some nifty wordplay, sizzling personals and fierce punchlines–more than enough to beat back a solid at times, but stumble-prone Ace Amin in this 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden.

Verdict: Houndawg Buck50 (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Houndawg Buck50 –  “You gonna compare your street life to mine?, well objects are closer than they appear so check your rear view, ‘cuz while you was in them streets, I was working at Walmart and guess what muthafucka they shooting over there too!”

Ace Amin defeats Jey The Nitewing

Recap: A bit of a frustrating one, what with watching Jey The Nitewing come to this battle against Ace Amin with so much fire material, but getting in his own way with a trio of stoppage’s, one debatable choke and one surefire choke. Not that Ace needed much help, the performance/bump-heavy Gooonie squad member bringing his own gang of steely street missives, hardbody punches, stifling gun bars and gritty, real life struggle narratives that would’ve kept him in the battle even if his opponent wasn’t repeatedly tripping over himself. Altogether a bout that could’ve been dope, but give the guy who came more prepared, Ace Amin, rounds 2 and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “I’m grabbing a thing, its sad what I seen, put the cannon in King…it’s a lunch special!”

Ace Amin defeats Snake Eyez

Recap: A real lively and lengthy one here as Ace Amin and Snake Eyez meetup for about an hour on the URL Summer Impact card for 3 rounds of fiery punchlines, pushing and shoving, Gooonie/Dot Mobb/Cave Gang drama, chain tossing, gangly street missives, prison war stories, stinging gun bars, gritty personals and piercing name flips. A couple of high energy battlers who both need to work on their professionalism and temperament’s when on stage, in the face of an elongated, a bit filler-prone and at times redundant-with-the-mayhem Snake Eyez in the first two rounds, a more condensed and crowd-controlling Ace’s ability to consistently bomb on his opponent with repeated 2-bar bangers, witty barbs, some fierce wordplay and mocking personals allows the DMV emcee to take the first two rounds for the win before a righteous and electric 3rd by both Ace and Snake gets scored a debatable here.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “Listen duke, do you think that going to prison is something more than something I had to do?, I’m not proud of it, I don’t even want the URL listing ‘Convictions’ as one of my attributes!”

Ace Amin defeats Fuse Da General

Recap: URLTV Banned Legacy PG battle sees Ace Amin get straight busy, dishing that stinging real talk shit few can relate too along with stifling bully bars, ringing prison narratives and rapidly stunted punchlines/name flips over the course of a performance-heavy 3 rounds to beat back a gritty and mostly solid, but not quite as rousing and little less consistent reps from Fuse Da General.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “Ain’t no answers for this big clip, it’s a muthafuckin’ conundrum!”

Ace Amin defeats TD Berry

Recap: Wouldn’t count this one as Ace Amin’s best piece of work, but damn if Nu Jerzey Twork wasn’t impressed. Still, with Ace doing a worthy job expounding on street semantics all the while dishing gritty and aggressive punchlines, some fire set-ups and a handful of dandy name flips, in this 1-rounder from GOTG, beating the sometimes solid, but mostly blase punches coming at him from opponent TD Berry didn’t really require Ace’s A-game.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You see me and think it’s gonna be an easy plate, well think, so either we leaving with TD bank or TD gonna be needing T.D. Jakes!”

Jon Doe defeats Ace Amin

Recap: Super fiery and competitive 1-rounder between Ace Amin and Jon Doe gets edged by the latter, who with his slightly more versatile array of jaunty punches, heat, wordplay, wit and gripping set-ups/mayhem was able beat back a strong, gun-flashing, gritty and bullish, but also a bit redundant turn from his bearded opponent.

Verdict: Jon Doe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Jon Doe – “The snub shoot and turn him into soup, I’m thinking Wonton, or I could bang on him with the long arm…I’m thinking Bron-bron!”

Ace Amin defeats Villa

Recap: Not much comp here as Ace Amin’s gritty street chatter, charitable pontifications, stunted gun bars and frenzied name flips/punchlines combine to easily beat back a loud and boisterous, but mostly pedestrian turn from Villa in this 1-rounder from Capitol Battlegrounds.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “This shit will peel your burns, twin Mac’s, 2 11’s, just for you…nigga the steel reserved!”

Ace Amin defeats So Supa

Recap: Sure, Ace Amin was able to get an assist from opponent So Supa’s gritty/cocky stylings being impeded by a couple of slip-ups near the end of his turn. But in this gritty 1-rounder from CBG’s Battlegrounds, it’s still Ace who deserves the credit for putting in most of the work what with an aggressive round filled with hardbody missives, stifling bully bars, fiery anecdotes and visceral gun bars/punchlines that earned him the win.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “You?, ain’t ahead of nuthin’, I, am beheading something, he be like ‘nah, that shit ain’t about nuth…’, it’s something if I said it’s something!”
