Ish Mula defeats First Lady Flamez

Recap: First Lady Flamez has been taking a lot of battles lately and it may be catching up to her. For example, in this 1-rounder from HitList Battle League versus an always dangerous Ish Mula, where Flamez’ penchant for hardbody punches/wordplay came through a handful of times, but her preparation game (apparently both Flamez and her opponent battled the previous day) wasn’t quite there as she had to stop and recall her bars a couple of times during her round. Thus leaving a more versatile, name flip savvy, gritty punching, 4-bar set-up-lit, personal stunting and bullish Mula with an easy vic.

Verdict: Ish Mula (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ish Mula – “What’s poppin’ blood?, I give a symbol they gonna find her never, one word will mean everything like Chinese letters!”

Steams defeats Ish Mula

Recap: In this 3-rounder from WeGoHard, Steams uses a nice quartet of intricate wordplay, ill set-ups/personals, snappy name flips and steely punchlines to survive both a 2nd round choke and a sterling middle round from Ish Mula, who while forever gritty and aggressive with his punches, came with too many reaches/pedestrian bars in the first, before an elongated and pretty average 3rd got him edged there too.

Verdict: Steams (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Steams – “Ish wanna be the shit, but that’s a gift and a curse at the same time!”

Dre Dennis defeats Ish Mula

Recap: When you’re able to battle 30 times in one year as Dre Dennis attests to here, you must be doing something right. Thus, even before Prep tagged himself in for some ill tag-team theatrics at the end, with pointed gun lines, stirring name flips and some hardbody workplay, Dennis puts in enough work to beat a nice, but none-too-spectacular Ish Mula.

Verdict: Dre Dennis (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Dre Dennis – “You don’t make homies, you put fake bodies under sheets like kids sneaking out!”

Cortez defeats Ish Mula

Recap: Choosing to run with like 80% punches allows Ish Mula to put together a very solid (“Bar for bar, you ain’t even in my class G, actually when I calculated these punches…I’d be better off with Math B!”) performance against the veteran Cortez. However, when Mula alludes to Spanish battle rappers not liking Cortez, you can’t help but wonder why he didn’t address that particular rumor more in his raps. Because if that’s the case, why is it that when given the chance to face Cor one-on-one, most Spanish battle rappers have failed…miserably. And considering too thut with a way more versatile and (“Two battles in one day, nigger I’m that hungry, I offed Run and Will hit a brick wall like Crash Dummies!”) haymaker-heavy Cortez takes this one here, he can’t help but give notice to all Spanish battle rappers again, that he’s the best one out there.

Verdict: Cortez (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Cortez – “Lord forgive me, that chrome dumping, I’m dome hunting, it’s an everyday struggle waking up to Cyn [sin] like Joe Buddens!”

Presidential Dubz defeats Ish Mula

Recap: A load of hot bars and schemes dished from both sides in this close, all the way competitive, We Go Hard matchup between two aggressive mainstays: (“Everything Golden? I’m coming for it all…everybody Paid In Full until he Mitch sliding down the wall!”) Presidential Dubz and (“Shit that I seen with my eyes, you’d think it’s make-believe, I’ll turn his world upside down, I seen Stranger Things!”) Ish Mula. With Dubz edging the first and Mula coming back to edge the 2nd, a very close 3rd gets dissected down to who had the stronger round overall and/or who had slightly less filler and the feeling here in both cases was Dubz.

Verdict: Presidential Dubz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Presidential Dubz – “Pulled up on him with something dirty like I’m rolling with Paper…with the cig behind the ear like the boggie for later!”

T-Rex defeats Ish Mula

Recap: Even if it’s only a one-rounder, there’s nothing like having a win over the legendary T-Rex on your resume. Unfortunately that wouldn’t be the case for Ish Mula here, as even when faced against the already pressed mixtape verses from his opponent, a little too much filler throughout an otherwise (“Rex is so soft, let’s get the art of facts, bad kid at the museum, I’ll knock a bone off!”) solid turn, provides just enough leeway for the consistently (“Shrumda with the burner or the knife, speaking of Bobby he’ll go out like his daughter or his wife!”) thoro bars from Rex to edge the battle at the end.

Verdict: T-Rex (W) 1-0

Favorite line: T-Rex – “You can ask about Trex, they tell you I’m a hustler tho, in the middle of teh summer I be shoveling snow!”

Holmzie Da God defeats Ish Mula

Recap: In this flexing 3-rounder from TrapNY, Ish Mula comes solid with the name flips, bully bars as well as some nifty wordplay. However, a more consistent with the punches/schemes, fierce with the personals and versatile with the bars Holmzie Da God does just enough (along with a fire rebuttal in the 2nd) to edge the first couple of rounds and earn the win here.

Verdict: Holmzie Da God (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Holmzie Da God – “I got a AK, drum clip, ain’t no way of dodging …, these bitches coming outta nowhere, they like the Cosby accusers!”

Mo Mula defeats Ish Mulah

Recap: In a one-round battle for who better reps that ‘money’, Mo edges a solid (“If y’all say Mo’s bar on fire…Simpson’s episode!”) Ish with flexing performance bars, more consistent heaters, harder punchlines and dicier wordplay.

Verdict: Mo Mula (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Mo Mula – “They ask me why I do shit like this on stage, nigga ‘cuz they like [Daylyt]!”

Piff defeats Ish Mula

Recap: 16 Bars Rap Battle League 1-rounder between Ish Mula and Piff stays close with a gang of solid, tough bars from both battlers. But a couple of nifty schemes in the latter half of his round edges this one to Piff.

Verdict: Piff (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Piff – “I’ll run in ya Full House and see how much ya Family Matters!”
