Recap: While a spitfire 2nd round from both battlers highlights this URL barfest between Nunn Nunn and Quest Mcody, the more versatile (tho he was a little elongated with his rounds) Nunn’s ability to score with the boasts, wit, fiery personals, wordplay, set-ups and punchlines at a steadier level and even go off-the-dome when need be, allows him to take both the 1st and 3rd rounds for the win.

Recap: In this Born Legacy 12 match that featured the 1st solo appearance of longtime vet Quest McCody on URL, Cortez utilizes with a quartet of verbal apparatus’: fierce name flips, boastful lyricism, ringing mayhem and rigid personals on his opponent’s status in battle rap to take the first couple of rounds for the win before Quest used some pent-up aggression and blistering personals to angle his way to a 3rd round debatable.

Recap: In this competitive battle from KOTD, a rarely-seen-solo Quest Mcody puts forth a solid effort with a wide load of brazen punches, witty barbs and even some off-the-dome freestyles. But over the course of 3 rounds, a more condensed Xcel proves to be too much for his opponent, using a wide array of righteous punchlines, potent wordplay and fierce name flips to score a debatable 2nd round when he wasn’t edging both the 1st and 3rd.

Recap: Danja Zone (“Your pencil is pitiful, shit my pen do is pivotal, appearance wise, fear for lives, see how I move without traveling…Jamiroquai!”) out-bars Quest Mcody in a close round 1. But Quest comes right back displaying more versatility with righteous (“Danja, swear to God you don’t live with your daddy….that’s ‘cuz I put you out bitch!”) jokes and (“You winning? nigga not today, he swing, he’ll get a knot today, pop and spray, he the future? cool, that’s not today!”) punches to even things up in round 2. Split going into the 3rd round, it’s all Danja, with personals that landed hard along with some nice (“Bitch, I’m fitting to smack you, they like ‘It’s just a battle!‘, [places arm under chin & waves] till I wave goodbye with the 5th to his chin like I’m a Little Rascal!”) performance bars and sizzling wordplay to earn the win.

Quest MCODY defeats Math Hoffa

Recap: From Detroit’s Barbarian Battle Grounds, after getting outscored by a punch-heavy and versatile Math Hoffa in round 1, a cadence-lit Quest Mcody gets busy and more substantive with the bars via stinging bouts of spicy lyrical warfare that with a few rigid personals and some flexing wordplay mixed in, allowed the Motor City vet to take rounds 2 and 3 for the win over an earnest, but much less hitting Hoffa.

Quest MCody defeats Daylyt

Recap: Whether he’s spitting bars or dishing antics Daylyt’s always gonna go for broke. Still, his litany of jaunty bars and haywire (“I had a gun so BIG, it got married to Faith Evans!”) jokes here aren’t (btw, “Whoomp There It Is” was by Tag Team, not The 69 Boyz) consistent enough to overcome an inspired Quest Mcody, whose more witty (“That .38 take JJ fish with it, a special ed”) punchlines and variety of aggressive bars as well as well-hitting (“You probably saw the title of this venue and thought you could let a nigga ride your magic stick”) personals resonate enough to get him a close, but well-earned win.

Favorite line: Daylyt – “I lift an arm for Quest chin [Question], like I got the answer”

Head Ice defeats Quest MCODY

Recap: Dope 3rd round by Quest MCODY doesn’t make up for too many lame (“If you were a puck, a hockey player wouldn’t put you on ice”) name flips during the first couple of rounds against Head Ice who faltered a little bit towards the end, but still had enough (“Try to see me the water’s deeper, you could die in the floor, ask those who really saw Katrina”) left in his tank to pull out the win.
