Recap: A dope 3-rounder from Takeova Battle League between Jey The Nitewing and Ill Will comes down to the 3rd round after the two (had Nitewing edging round 1 and Will returning the favor in the 2nd) split the opening rounds via a gang of bodacious punches (Will), righteous darts (JTN), boastful barbs (both), amusing lines (both), ill personals (both) and crazy name flips (both). But Ill Will, who due to his bullish tones, never gets enough credit for his ample wit, would continue harping on his opponent’s infamous day job with sterling effect. The Michigan battle vet scoring left and right with seismic punches/personals, witty puns, righteous barbs, ripe storytelling and hard-hitting gun bars/street darts in what turned out to be a sublime (i.e. classic) round. And while Nitewing would deliver a pretty solid, noble and often punch-heavy 3rd, his round wouldn’t be nearly as haymaker-lit as Will’s, thus giving Yaktown’s finest the round and the win.
Verdict: Ill Will (W) 2-1
