Recap: A dope 3-rounder here from Takeova Battle League, comes down to the 3rd round after Madflex (who got round 1) and JC (who spazzed with enough continuously flexing punches in the latter half of his round to take the 2nd) split the openers. Flex with some brutal disses, witty personals/storytelling and hard-hitting punchlines throughout the battle and JC (who’s been battling a lot lately), via a bunch of death-gripping darts, rugged name flips, boastful barbs and fiery wordplay/similes, kept things close and entertaining for all 3 rounds. However, despite another punch-heavy turn by JC in round 3, it’s the more versatile and slightly more haymaker-lit Madflex who edges the final round for the win.
Verdict: Madflex (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Madflex – “If I size him up he’ll need a reminder that the metric isn’t feet, ‘cuz I’ll start stomping, y’all seen the cover of Illmatic?, little boy face about to blend into the street!”
