Recap: From Takeova Battle League, kind of weird that after all these years Mike P can be so sensitive about personals when it comes to his wife, when from his infamous 2nd round against Danny Myers to body-shaming Charlie Clips here, he has no problem engaging in scathing personals himself. That said, tho he a bit of a lazy 2nd, Mike’s strong set-up/punchlines (which edged him round 1) and sometimes otherworldly darts made for a spicy overall showing for a man heading into retirement from battle rap. But yet in another reminder of what usually happens when Clips takes a battle seriously–the Harlem vet’s gritty punchlines/wordplay, witty jokes, braggadocios raps, solid rebuttals and (after coming back with a punch-heavier round 2 to split things going into the 3rd), a dope, cleverly-written, witty, heavily personal (to Mike’s clear annoyance) and haymaker-lit 3rd round to win the battle.
Verdict: Charlie Clips (W) 2-1
