Recap: From Smack’s Volume 12 card, now a regular on URL, A. Ward goes toe to toe with Fonz in a 3-rounder that stayed close throughout. Ward, with a bunch of spicy rebuttals, some feelgood wordplay, a gang of righteous heaters, witty barbs/personals and spirited punches/metaphors, showed the Landlord that he could compete on the big stage. On the other Fonz with his head-ringing gun bars, bullish boasts, hard-hitting often-Christian-themed punches, solid name flips and wily personals kept it versatile and outside of a 2nd round that saw him struggle with his flow to the point of almost choking, stayed engaged throughout the match. Split (the slightly more haymaker-lit Fonz taking round 1, before a steadier and punch-crazy took round 2 to tie things up) going into the 3rd, despite a strong turn by Ward, a little too much filler from the Four Horsemen to ho along with a more condensed and punch/personal-spazzing Fonz, gives the Landlord the round and the win.
Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Fonz – “I mean, who the fuck this nigga really gonna call if shit go the wrong way?, Botch show up with his Latina Christian brother Loso, Loso I don’t want y’all to think that I’m racist or take this the wrong way, but I dont give give a fuck if you showed up with Juan Carlos Bendoya, ’cause to me all of you nigga’s Jose!”
