Recap: No disrespect to Cortez who came through with a solid, if not gritty effort, but even without the slip-ups, he wasn’t beating Rum Nitty here in this 3rd round UM3 tourney rematch. And that’s just a testament to the level of verbal acumen Nitty was on here, the Phoenix, AZ, battler going ham with spicy after spicy name flip, sizzling gun bars, spitfire punchlines and incredibly rigid wordplay that coupled with some hitting personals all combined to handily move Rum to the finals.
Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 3-0
Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “This shit is over, I’ma lift it on him, no mask, show up bare [bear] faced on Cort’ (court) like the Grizzly’s logo!”
