Recap: From the Riot, in a competitive and stirring 3-rounder between 2022 WOTY Jaz The Rapper and 2022 COTY Rum Nitty filled with plenty (from both sides) of gritty punchlines, flexing gun bars, searing personals, wily wordplay and co-host Tay Roc talking through both battlers rounds, thanks in part to an elongated (when it came to schemes and rounds) throughout Jaz also hurting herself a bit with a slow start in round 1 (thus helping Nitty to edge) before coming back with a more steady showing in the middle round to split things going into the 3rd, it’s the more bar efficient and slightly more haymaker-lit Nitty who takes the final round for the win.
Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “I won’t slide in the cover, but I’ll take sloppy action, she like ‘I can’t breathe!’, stop the acting, you either gonna suck or choke….why you out here lollygagging!”
