Recap: From The Battle Academy, versatile and hard-hitting Charlie Clips uses a flexing mix of solid name flips, wily freestyles, piercing street/trap talk, boastful barbs, stinging punches/personals, fierce schemes and witty darts to score more haymakers and handily take both of the opening rounds for the win against Topfloor Lut. With a chance to pitch a shutout in the 3rd however, an elongated Clips would succumb to a gang of middling freestyles, rants at the Philly crowd and other what-have-you that was hit and miss. That in turn allowed Topfloor, steady scoring in the final round via a bunch of gritty punches, solid personals and hard-slinging hustler talk, to salvage the round and avoid the 30.
Verdict: Charlie Clips (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Charlie Clips – “Lowkey I’m like Thor, I grab the hammer and breeze, but if I bump into Lut I’m a grab the hammer and squeeze, and every bullet was made to open up Top floor, these shits like janitor keys!”
