Recap: From URL’s ‘Outside 7’ card, a 3-round battle that grew out of a Twitter Spaces spat on a couple of years back, Cortez versus Hansel goes down and after a close round 1 it’s all ‘Water’ here. The West-coast battler utilizing a bunch of mean personals, hard-hitting set-up/punchlines, wicked wordplay, rich storytelling, crazy schemes and a gang of sizzling name flips to efficiently score more haymakers and edge the opening round (Cortez’s best) before handily taking the latter two rounds despite an earnest and gritty but too often pedestrian effort from Tez.
Verdict: Hansel (W) 3-0
Favorite line: Hansel – “You’ze a different type of weird, something wrong with buddy, bitch you wouldn’t be world class if you was Social Studies!”
