Recap: From Straight Drop Media, T-Top and Jaz the Rapper put forth a consistently fiery and competitive that stayed tight till the end. The Bear, a bit elongated (esp. in round 3) and dialing back on the trap talk, took it to Jaz with a bunch of fiery/witty (“You think you coudl replace her legacy?, that shit dead, even Monica Lewinsky wanted to be the 1st Lady, but was only known for big Head!”) personals, wicked set-up/punchlines, rugged storytelling and solid name flips.street darts while keeping it pretty steady throughout. On the other hand Jaz, via a gang of fierce gun bars, stinging/witty personals, some piercing similes, righteous heaters and gritty 4-bar set-ups/punchlines, kept it more shortened, but equally efficient. That said, an evenly potent round 1 between the battlers makes for a debatable there, before a slightly more haymaker-lit Top takes the 2nd round. With a chance to tie it up in the 3rd, thanks in part to her long-winded and repetitive opponent, but mostly due to saving her most concise, wordplay-lit and hardest-hitting turn for the final round, it’s Jaz who takes the 3rd to make this one a debatable.
Verdict: TIE
Favorite line: Jaz The Rapper – “Nigga’s love talking I’m a girl dad…well push that female farther!”
