Recap: From West World Battle Rap, a dope and highly competitive 3-rounder between Hansel and wily vet Yung Griz comes down to the wire. Hansel, witty and ruthless with the personals, while also scoring with a bunch of boastful barbs, gritty punchlines/similes and feelgood name flips, came to win. While Griz flexed throughout with a gang of fiery gun bars, stunting personals, nifty name (“This is battle rap, nigga’s die in these rounds, let the adult survive, big Glock I palm it high, blood cover the floor, he is not alive, it look like Kool-Aid without the sugar when Water died!”) flips/wordplay, rich struggle bars and piercing punches. Despite an equally fire round 1, the slightly more haymaker-lit Hansel took round 1. Round 2 would see a slightly more punch-heavy and efficient Griz come back to tie things up heading into the 3rd. And while for a minute there, a witty at times, personal lit and steadily hitting would edge the 3rd for the win, Griz’s ability to turn up on his punchlines towards the end of his round would be just enough to make the final round a tie.

Favorite line: Hansel – “As a light-skin nigga, I done heard all of the stupid jokes, all of the goofy quotes, but I can admit, you wanna know when I do the light-skin squint the most?…when I’m looking through the scope!”
