Recap: From Takeova Battle League, putting aside the complaints (from Drugz) over time limits, it’s a pretty dope, fiery and aggressive 3-rounder here between the former Goonie and Chess. The former unleashing a boatload of stinging gun bars, solid personals and (that ‘the Tesla thought there was another nigga in the car’ line was fire) gritty set-up/punchlines in three condensed rounds that kept things close. However, even tho Chess did rap longer all battle, it’s quality over quantity over here. The Cakelyfe capo sticking it to the Gun Show with a steady barrage of killer (even when using Drugz’ gov’t name) name flips, fly wordplay, stifling punches/gun bars, feelgood personals, boastful bangers and even some witty barbs to flex his versatiity, efficiently score more haymakers in the 1st and 3rd rounds (call the 2nd debatable) and earn the win.
Verdict: Chess (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Chess – “I’ll pull a .9 out and let nine out, they told me leave Drugz alone…[points hands up at Drugz head like a gun] I turned into Amy Winehouse!”
